Porter Goss is a blue-blood and member of Yale's Book & Snake, a secret society much like Skull & Bones. He joined the CIA in time for the Bay of Pigs, and participated in the debacle as part of Miami Station aka JM/WAVE. He's part of the old Lemnitzer network. A corrupt Republican congressman on the take all during Iran Contra; in his district, Florida, he covered up gun and drug running. As head of the House Intelligence Committee he covered up 9/11. In September 2004, promoted from corrupt congressman to neocon torpedo at the CIA - his task to purge all opposition - that means anybody not on the straight neocon line of endless war - he went in to purge anyone with doubts about the neocon fascist madmen's agenda -
What's happened now is Goss is forced out with no warning - has been driven out - this was not done by Bush or Negroponte - it was done by the anti-war or lesser evil faction. The neocons' own Weekly Standard says he was a true believer in Bushism and regrets his loss is a loss for their cause.
How he was brought down. Goss came in with a troop of thugs, his hatchet men, called "the goslings" - one of them had to quit because he had already been fired by the CIA for criminal misconduct 20 years before. Another one is Kyle "Dusty" Foggo - #3 in the CIA - of the Watergate poker games / orgies of Randy "Duke" Cunningham - convicted felon on his way to 8 years in the big house - Foggo is a pure creature of Goss - who may also have been in those poker games with prostitutes being brought in. As a corrupt Republican he could have been in on the Abramoff take too.
Yet the overriding issue is, will there be attack on Iran or not. The reason Goss was shot down is he would have been the one to come up with the "proof" for the Iran war. His goal was to make the CIA into a gumball machine. Put in 25 cents and you get reasons to attack Iraq. Another quarter, reasons to take out Iran - another coin, Russia, then China, what next, attack the Moon, or Mars, the God of War. They're in Iran already. Attacking Iran will be an attack on Russia and China, because there are Russians and Chinese working there, a lot more than in the Chinese embassy in Belgrade, hundreds of them. Of course there's a billion more of them where they came from, so this is something you don't want to do.
By ousting Goss, Bush loses war momentum - he needed Goss to validate the neocon arguments for war. John "death squads" Negroponte is from same death squad - part of Iran Contra as Goss, they are bosom buddies from drug and gun running - it's an absurd cover story that Negroponte has pushed Goss out.
Gen Hayden, ex-head of NSA as new head of CIA - the one who signed off on wiretaps - this is a monkey trap for Bush, who sets himself up for another conflict. Republican Congressman Hoekstra, current head of the House Intelligence Committee, says Hayden is the wrong man. Of course it's up to the Senate, but Bush will lose momentum over next head of CIA. This almost forces the gutless Democrats to fight. Will they vote for Hayden and give him more power to break the law and wiretap?
The party against the nuking of Iran has had a victory - it is growing as a matter of self preservation. Goss was a leading fanatic of the war party. The question is, nuke Iran, yes or no, and he was a leading yes man. Bush will have to invest time in getting Hayden through Congress, which could lead to revelations.
The Moussaoui sentencing was also a stunning defeat for the government - they invested enormous resources in a show trial to reaffirm the official story of 9/11 - they had the most pro-government jury pool that exists in Alexandria, Virginia, they're all government employees there, and they rejected the capital punishment arguments. The 911 brainwashing and terror demagogy is wearing thin, and cracks are appearing in the 911 dam.
Moussaoui never was convicted by jury, he convicted himself - as a double agent, patsy, dupe and fanatic in equal parts - but not as smart as Oswald who knew he was a patsy.
Three of the jurors didn't buy the government story. Moussaoui pled guilty after the government case had collapsed. His case officers conned him into believing he had to plead guilty and then he would get a pardon or an exchange from Bush. This man shouldn't have been on trial, he needs therapy in a psychiatric hospital. There is documentation on Finsbury mosque going back to 98 - Londonistan - the playground of MI-6 recruiting fanatics to assassinate Sadat and Qaddafi. The government had to back away from the ridiculous charge that Reid and Moussaoui were going to fly a 757 into the White House. If they had put Reid on the stand, they would have made a farce far more idiotic than the 3 stooges, this dynamic duo, so even the government backed away from that, no matter how much they love inflationary claims for 911, they decided No Reid, had enough trouble with Moussaoui.
The jury didn't find him psychotic but thought the link to the 911 plot was overdone. Of course we say the indictment was in error, in violation of the 5th amendment, to accuse someone for not giving information against himself.

Subsequently, we see Moussaoui now wants to withdraw his guilty plea. His brainwashing is wearing
off too now that the stun belt, cattle prod and case officers are not with him 24/7. This was a hideous
mistrial, a gothic grotesque, and the federal rule that forbids a change of plea after sentencing is a
crude violation of elementary human rights; it codifies injustice, is itself a cruel and unusual
punishment, and has no foundation in logic; quite the reverse, given the prevalence of plea bargaining.
Worse yet, Moussaoui is at high risk of undergoing the Jack Ruby treatment reserved for
uncooperative patsies.
